Tarpon Fishing is one of the main draws to the Florida Keys for anglers of all ages. Ranging in sizes from 15 - 200 lbs tarpon are the acrobatic, pit bulls of the shallows. Many angler has come to the keys in search of the "Silver King" to conquer it's mighty spirit, some have won and some have failed, either way they go home with the thrill of having seen one of these magnificent creatures leap out of the Water.
There are many ways to catch tarpon all up and down the keys. Using bait, Artificial plugs, dead bait and fly rod to entice these monsters to hit. All are worth while as a means of engaging a fight with a tarpon.

Types of Fishing For Tarpon are
- Flats Fishing
for Tarpon
- Fishing for tarpon in the shallows for feeding and laid up fish. Good all up and down the Florida Keys in the Spring. Fly fishermen fancy this charter to catch tarpon on the fly. May and June are red hot for this.
- Backcountry Fishing For Tarpon
- Fishing both the shallows of the flats and the channels with live bait, fly, and artificial. A hands on charter for up to 4 persons. You can do this All year in Key West. weather permiting.

- Catch a Tarpon on the fly. Our guides supply the gear or bring your own. 2 persons on the flats and 3 on a bay boat. Book ahead.

- A smaller tarpon the jumps like crazy. They are found in the backcountry in numbers in the fall. Call us for more details on this exciting fishery.

- After the heat of the day, a great way to watch the sun go down with a Silver King flying through the air. Book our backcountry boats for this.

- Fishing from a boat around the bridges in the middle Keys. Good in the spring and summer.

- Generally a 4 person trip with Center console wreck and reef boats. Chumming the fish and feeding them dead bait. Good in the spring.
The Time of year all varries. In Key West, fishing guides are into the tarpon all year long depending on weather. Traditionally tarpon season is from February through July, with the bulk of the migration being in April May and June.
