Big Pine Key To Sugarloaf Keys Lower Keys backcountry Fishing guides

The fishing in the Lower Florida Keys may very well be the best kept secret in the Florida Keys, especially the backcountry fishing. There is just so much area to fish and almost no pressure. When I fish the Lower Keys around Big Pine Key and Sugarloaf Key out on the flats and in the backcountry. I feel as though I have stepped back in time. It's truly amazing and a experience that I recommend to anyone fishing the Florida Keys.

This whole eco system acts as a huge estuary and are home to an enormous population of little fish waiting to be big fish. Feeding on shrimp, squid, crabs and whatever else comes through in the daily flush of tides. All the while growing up to one day move offshore. Where to Stay in The Lower Florida Keys

Although US 1 runs right through all of them there are very few places for visitors to stay without a one month rental agreement. Only certain areas and special places have a short term ability to rent such as a hotel or resort. We have a few favorites in this area that we like to recommend to people on a regular basis. Both of these properties offer a spot for your Lower Keys fishing guide to pick you right up from the dock. Flying into Key West International Airport or Miami International Airport is the best way to get here. Rent a Car if you plan to get around off destination. The Lower Keys are at least 35 minutes from the local airport.

First, we really love the Parmer Place Resort on Little Torch Key. Centrally located and affordable this is a Florida Keys Hideaway and tropical enjoyment. Well taken care of we consider this the Gem of the Lower Keys for accommodations. I have stayed here a few times and can totally recommend this place for a very Keysey feel. Close to local food spots and super comfortable.

Second, on the high end of the spectrum for the Lower Keys visitor that really wants to getaway.. Little Palm Island Resort. Discriminating taste will prevail here with beautiful tropical foliage and individual cottages. You can only get here by boat from a shore station in Ramrod Key. Having been invited to fish many tournaments and staying on the island I can tell you I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff is great and the meals are fit for a king. Set up as a sportsman's getaway or romantic vacation retreat Little Palm is the pinnacle.

Third, we have weekly rentals in a place called Venture Out. Located on the Atlantic side of US 1 in Cudjoe Key Venture Out offers weekly rentals in different properties.. Some friend of ours have properties that they offer to our anglers staying in the Lower Florida Keys. A great place to stay to get out of the hustle of Key West and have a canal in your back yard.. Great sunrise views..

Feel free to call Island Gen the Florida Keys concierge to see about these places. 1-800-477-4188

Island Gen handles accommodations for more anglers visiting than anyone in the Florida Keys or Key West. She won't steer you wrong.
